Student Basic Needs Coalition is thrilled to announce that Hannah Botts (she/they) has joined the team as the Director of Campus Programs. In this role, Hannah will focus on supporting our nationwide network of 20+ campus chapters throughout the school year.
Hannah is a rising Junior at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. They have an extensive background in youth and civic engagement, with experience at a range of nonprofit organizations. Hannah brings her expertise in researching and implementing tactics to encourage young adult participation in politics. With this experience, Hannah will be able to support our student leaders in developing programs to change the culture of their campus with regards to basic needs insecurity.
This year, Hannah will build a robust system of campus chapters through improved programming and leadership development opportunities. Specifically, Hannah will work closely with 19 campuses who are launching chapters of SBNC, as well as supporting 3 existing chapters. Chapters will focus on three main projects: enrolling students in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, educating their campus on basic needs insecurity, and advocating for campus and state policies. With Hannah’s range of experience in these areas, they will be able to successfully guide students to success in their programs. They are especially excited to help student leaders bring more basic needs resources to their campus.
